Emergency evacuation at Brisbane hospital after gas leak forces patients out of facility
Brisbane’s Wesley Hospital has been evacuated after a gas leak, which has forced patients out of the facility.
The incident at the hospital on Coronation Drive in Auchenflower, occurred at about 9am on Tuesday.
The Daily Mail understands that two floors have been cleared and that at least five fire crews are at the scene, with more expected to arrive.
Police said they were aware of possible chemical exposure at the healthcare facility.
Paramedics have been treating some patients, though all were understood to be in a stable condition.
Patients are also being assessed as they leave the building.
The number of those evacuated and the cause of the leak has not been confirmed at this stage.
No other threat to the community has been identified.
