Fox News cameraman dies of wounds near Kyiv
Photographer Pierre Zakrevsky, who worked for Fox News, died of injuries sustained while covering events in Ukraine.
“It is with great sadness and pain in my heart that I announce the news of the death of our dear operator, Pierre Zakrevsky. Pierre passed away in Gorinka in the Kyiv region of Ukraine,” Fox News quoted the channel’s general manager, Susan Scott.
She noted that Zakruzsky covered events in many hot spots such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
“He genuinely loved covering reality, and his courage, professionalism and work ethic were known to journalists across all media. He was incredibly popular – everyone in the media industry who covered foreign agendas knew and respected Pierre.”
Scott expressed her deepest condolences to his wife and family. Pierre was 55 years old, lived in London, had worked in Ukraine since February of this year.
Reporter Benjamin Hall, who worked alongside Zakrowski, was also wounded, and survived. When their car came under fire.
