French tourist stabbed while trying to break up fight in Brisbane’s party precinct

A Good Samaritan is fighting for his life after he was stabbed multiple times while trying to break up a wild brawl in the heart of Brisbane’s party precinct.

The French national was with friends outside a bottle shop near the corner of Wickham and Brunswick streets in Fortitude Valley shortly after 3.30am on Friday when they saw a fight break out.

He stepped in to intervene but suffered ‘significant’ wounds to his torso.

Harrowing photos show the seriously injured Good Samaritan lying on the ground, being comforted by a friend, while being treated by paramedics.

He was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.

‘Two people were fighting, and he was right in the middle and he got stabbed, I think, three times and he started bleeding a lot,’ his friend Hugo told Seven News.

‘And then we called the ambulance and the police and they arrived pretty fast.’

Two men were arrested nearby and are assisting police with inquires.

‘Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing,’ a police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

No charges have yet been laid.

It wasn’t the only violent incident in Brisbane overnight.  

A young woman, 29, suffered facial injuries during  an incident outside the Woolloongabba Hotel on Thursday night.

She was taken to the Mater Hospital in a stable condition. The offender fled the scene on foot.
