Famous sister duo Gigi and Bella Hadid have welcomed a new addition to the fam after delivering the bombshell revelation that they have a half-sister named Aydan Nix.
The model siblings shared the news in a statement to Daily Mail on Friday, saying their 23-year-old half-sister is the result of their dad Mohamed Hadid’s “brief relationship” with a woman named Terri Hatfield Dull.
For those asking, the sisters clarified that Mohamed’s romance with Terri took place after his divorce from their mother and OG almond mum, Yolanda Hadid, back in 2001.
What’s more, Bella and Gigi said they’ve known about their new half-sibling for well over a year, and embraced her “with open arms” while keeping her identity a secret from the rest of the world.
“Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,” the sisters’ statement read.
“Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19.”
After her dad’s death, the Hadids said Aydan “decided to take a genetic test out of curiosity”, at which point she discovered “a biological connection” to them.
According to the statement, the sisters first connected with Aydan in late 2023, with Daily Mail reporting the long-awaited introduction took place while Aydan was studying abroad in Paris.
“As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations— with Aydan included — about how to support and protect her,” Gigi and Bella said.
“Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honour her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.”
“We’ve cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family,” the sisters added.
While details about Aydan remain scarce, Daily Mail reports that she is a recent graduate from the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, and has dreams of becoming a designer, stylist and influencer (it must run in the family!).
Aydan joins an already plentiful (and impossibly attractive) Hadid brood that also includes their brother Anwar, as well as Mohamed’s other daughters Marielle and Alana, whom he shares with his first wife Mary Butler.
On a personal note, I’d be over the moon if I discovered I was related to the Hadids — if only because of my newfound proximity to Bradley Cooper.
