Two women have been rushed to hospital after a car ploughed into a cafe.
The white Toyota Camry smashed into diners at Bakers Choice on Watsonia Road, in Melbourne’s north-east, shortly before 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Horrifying CCTV footage showed a table where two women were sitting was directly struck by the car.
One woman was trapped under the sedan as it ploughed into the cafe next door.
She was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.
The second woman was thrown from her seat and rushed to Austin Hospital.
Both women are now in a stable condition.
‘We just heard a whole lot of screaming and heard something smash,’ Tony Rabie, a worker at the neighbouring cafe, told 7News.

‘We ran out from the barber shop next door and unfortunately there was an old lady just trapped under the car and another lady in front of the bakery.’
The driver of the Camry had been parked next to the table when they lost control of the car as they tried to drive off.
Victoria Police confirmed no charges were laid over the incident.
