House of Representatives elections.. Vote turnout varied in… "Mrs. Zeinab" and"Caliph"

On the second and final day of the second phase of the House of Representatives elections, the committees of the fourteenth and fifteenth districts in the Sayyida Zeinab and Al-Khalifa regions witnessed a noticeable difference in turnout rates and attendance density, amid a state of tight security and organizational stability. Similarly, in front of the new Sayyida Zeinab Primary School and the Charitable Society School on Port Said Street.

 

As for the Al-Khalifa neighborhood, the scene was characterized by relative calm, with crowding in the vicinity of the Intellectual Education School in the Toulon area, the Al-Helmiya Public Language School, and the Al-Helmiya Preparatory School for Girls, where it was noted that security services were stationed to regulate traffic in the narrow streets surrounding the polling stations, such as “Mustafa Sari” Street. And “Al-Saliba”, to ensure that voters reach their polls easily.

 

The elderly and women dominated the electoral scene in the early hours, benefiting from the facilities provided by the National Elections Authority, such as wheelchairs and umbrellas for waiting, while the youth attendance was moderate in the evening.

 

The scene was not just individual voting, but rather transformed into many. Sometimes it is a family and community gathering, where entire families, including fathers, mothers, and children who have the right to vote, go together to the committees, in a scene that reflects a great awareness among citizens of the importance of their votes in shaping the parliamentary future. The two constituencies in total include 14 electoral centers that are equipped to receive voters through 25 subcommittees.

 

These elections are taking place within the second phase that began yesterday, Monday, and includes 13 governorates, namely Cairo, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharkia, Damietta, Suez, Port Said, Ismailia, South Sinai, and North Sinai.

 

At this stage, about 1,316 candidates are competing to decide 141 individual seats, in addition to competing for one list, and the electoral process takes place with the participation of a voting bloc of about 35 million voters, who cast their votes in 5287 subcommittees distributed among 73 electoral districts.
