Fancy owning a home like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Ohio mansion without the $5.35 million price tag?
A historic mansion with a surprising connection to the newlyweds’ sprawling lakeside estate has just hit the market for $1.75 million – offering buyers the chance to own a piece of the same architectural story for less than a third of the price.
The House of Seven Gables in Wheaton, Illinois, was built in 1897 by architect Jarvis Hunt for Chicago steel magnate Jay C Morse.
Just a few years later, Morse commissioned Hunt again to design Moyenage, the 21,000sq ft mansion that Kelce purchased in March for $5.35 million.
The Ohio property sits on 3.5 acres overlooking Lake Erie and boasts eight bedrooms, a game room, home theater and a two-bedroom gatehouse.
While the Illinois house is roughly half the size, at around 10,000sq ft, its architectural DNA is remarkably similar.
‘The resemblance is really quite remarkable,’ said Jenny Ames of Engel & Völkers Chicago, who is marketing the property with colleague Lisa Grimes.
Both houses showcase Hunt’s take on Tudor and Jacobean architecture, with brick exteriors, steeply gabled roofs and imposing chimneys.

Ames explained that historical accounts suggest Morse wanted the Ohio property to be based on his Wheaton home.
‘So when you look at the two houses side by side, you are not simply seeing two homes by the same architect,’ she said.
‘You are seeing two versions of a very personal architectural vision created for the same owner.’
The House of Seven Gables also retains an impressive collection of original features, including oak paneling, carved woodwork, fireplaces, historic flooring and beamed ceilings.
The three-story property has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, along with modern infrastructure, zoned heating and air conditioning and an attached three-car garage.

It was later threatened with demolition when the surrounding property was being redeveloped, but preservation efforts helped save the historic mansion.
In 2017, the entire 730-ton structure was moved about 500 feet to a new location.
‘They moved the structure intact,’ Ames revealed.
According to Ames, the house was lifted from its original foundation onto a steel framework and transported on 21 hydraulic dollies before being placed on its new foundation.
The operation took roughly six hours and gave the nearly 130-year-old mansion a new lease of life.
Ames highlighted that the preservation of so many historic elements is particularly unusual given the building’s long use as a religious institution.
‘The interiors are where the relationship becomes especially interesting,’ she said.
Both houses feature elaborate woodwork, beamed ceilings, grand staircases, leaded glass and formal rooms designed on a large scale.
But the Illinois property combines its old-world grandeur with modern amenities, thanks to the major renovation.
