Is this Australia’s most tone-deaf man? Model sparks fury on Kyle Sandilands’ podcast after claiming he won’t ever date local women or let a partner out on ‘girls’ nights’

A man who proudly rated himself a ’10 out of 10′ has sparked outrage over his eyebrow-raising relationship rules for his ‘traditional housewife’. 

Tyler made headlines in June after shocking First Dates Australia viewers when he asked his date whether she would give up her nursing job to be a housewife before revealing he didn’t want to put effort into a relationship with an independent woman.

Appearing on Kyle Sandilands’ new subscription show, the 23-year-old Sydney model declared he would ‘never ever date an Australian woman ever again’ because they don’t agree with his traditional views on relationships. 

‘The traditional wife in Australia is unheard of,’ Tyler told Kyle.

As Mary Madigan, one of the show’s newsreaders, rolled her eyes, she asked the man to explain what ‘traditional looks like’.

‘A woman that stays home, looks after the family unit… No going out with the girls,’ Tyler responded. 

Mary didn’t hold back as she pressed him on whether his ideal woman would be allowed to go to the pub with her friends, to which he replied: ‘I mean, if I’m there, yeah.’

But when the tables were turned, Tyler grinned as he confirmed he was allowed to enjoy a boys’ night out – without his housewife. 

He said he didn’t want his housewife to have a job because he wanted to be the provider, adding that he expected his woman to be ‘completely reliant’ on him.

Tyler then revealed he’d been dating a woman for a year and a half after telling her on their first date that he only wanted someone who was willing to become a housewife. 

Stunned, Mary then asked whether his girlfriend had her own bank account, to which Tyler replied that she had his credit card on her phone. 

‘OK but so you could cut off the money at any point?’ Mary asked, to which Tyler responded: ‘Of course.’

‘So she’s completely dependent on you is what you’re saying? That’s a pretty precarious position,’ Mary said in disbelief. 

Kyle interjected as he spoke loudly, ‘The guy feels very attacked’. Mary laughed as she responded: ‘I don’t care, he’s saying really scary things.’

Tyler explained that his traditional relationship views stemmed from his parents.

‘My mum and dad have a similar way of… brought me up,’ Tyler said, as Mary chimed in, ‘Thoughts and prayers for your mum.’ 

Kyle defended the young man’s views, saying: ‘Everyone wants their own thing and there’s nothing wrong with different flavours or varieties of relationships.’

The tone-deaf interview has been circulating on social media, with many left furious and shocked by his views.

‘On behalf of women in Australia, thank you for not wanting to date us,’ one said.

‘I’m Australian. Live in Perth. I’m traditional and we’re moving towards me being a stay-at-home. This is beyond traditional, this is control. I have my own bank account and I can go out with the girls anytime,’ another shared.

‘I can’t believe people like this exist,’ one said.

‘This is the warning sign all single girls need! Run,’ another added.

Many applauded Mary for calling out Tyler’s behaviour.

‘Love you Mary. I knew when I saw the eye roll, it was about to go down,’ one said. 

‘Love Mary. What a boss. As a woman who put up with coercive control, I love her calling it out for what it is. I too only had HIS card. Ended up with three kids all alone,’ another revealed.

‘Go Mary. He needs a lesson in life,’ one added.
