Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s bestie Gemma O’Neill announces she’s pregnant after heartbreaking miscarriage: ‘We couldn’t be happier’

Gemma O’Neill has shared some joyful news, announcing she is expecting a baby just months after revealing the heartbreak of a miscarriage.

The 42-year-old, who is best known as Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s long-time manager and close friend, is expecting her first child with her radio executive partner Scott Menz.

On Wednesday, Menz shared a photo on social media of Gemma tenderly cradling her stomach in a scenic nature setting and captioned it with some exciting words: ‘Baby on board and we couldn’t be happier.’ 

The happy news was quickly met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and followers.

Many praised the couple after Gemma previously spoke candidly about the pain of pregnancy loss, making the announcement an especially emotional milestone.

In recent months, Gemma has faced challenges both personally and professionally. 

She previously revealed she had stepped away from social media after being subjected to intense online abuse while also coping with the emotional toll of losing a pregnancy.

The publicity executive also found herself in the spotlight over financial issues surrounding her liquidated talent agency, which incurred a $550,000 tax bill.

Despite the difficult chapter, the baby announcement marks a happy new beginning for the couple.

In April, Gemma broke her silence with some heartbreaking news after disappearing from social media amid public scrutiny over some financial woes. 

After deleting her Instagram account and going into hiding, Gemma took to Her Best Life podcast to reveal she went offline because she had suffered a miscarriage and was grieving the loss of her baby amid a slew of online ‘abuse’.

‘I actually wrote down what I wanted to say about this because I feel like I’m probably not the sharpest right now,’ she said on her podcast.

‘I know you might have seen the media coverage about me recently. There have been a series of stories that have been written that are pretty hurtful… in many parts inaccurate.

‘I need to be clear here that there are legal reasons why I can’t go into detail which is why I haven’t, it’s also why I won’t.’ 

‘What I will say is I stand by my integrity, I stand by my work, I stand by how I conducted myself in business over my career,’ she continued.

‘What’s been particularly hard is seeing assumptions being made about things, like about me apparently going quiet, but in reality I was receiving a level of online abuse that was quite frankly disgusting and felt very scary.

‘So, I made the decision to step back from my personal Instagram to protect my mental health while I was pregnant.’

It was at this point that she became emotional as she struggled to fight back tears while revealing she had recently suffered a miscarriage.

‘Since then, I’ve been going through something very personal with the loss of a baby. None of that has anything to do with me having something to hide,’ she said.

‘It was about me taking care of myself during a very difficult moment.’
