The ex-fiancé of Off Campus star Mika Abdalla, Jake Short, is attempting to take “accountability” after receiving immense backlash for a remark he made on a now-deleted podcast.
Shortly after a representative of Mika confirmed that she and Jake had split after five years together, a snippet of The Sit and Chat podcast, hosted by Bradley Steven Perry and Jake, went gangbusters online for all the wrong reasons.
In the controversial clip, Jake admitted that he referred to Mika as “some b*tch”.
Jake Short apologises for ‘juvenile’ podcast joke
Days after the video made its rounds on social media, the A.N.T. Farm actor shared an Instagram Story apologising for the remark.
“I made a disrespectful, juvenile joke in a clip that recirculated this week,” he began.
“It’s imperative to me that I take accountability, as I am aware that it was inappropriate.
“It’s not representative of who I am or who I was in my relationship, but I continue to learn from this situation and work to show people the respect they deserve.”
The Instagram post comes shortly after the exes shared a joint statement to Us Weekly addressing the viral clip, stating that “it’s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other”.
At the time of writing, it appears that all episodes of The Sit and Chat podcast have been scrubbed from YouTube and Spotify. However, it appears that it can still be accessed via Apple Podcasts.

On June 2nd, a representative for the Off Campus star confirmed the pair have gone their separate ways.
“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life, it would feel remiss not to address that she and Jake are no longer together,” they told Us Weekly.
“They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”
The actors met on the set of Hulu’s Sex Appeal back in 2021, and after four years, Mika and Jake announced their engagement on Instagram.
News of their split came shortly after Off Campus confirmed that season two will focus on Mika’s character, Allie, and Stephen Kalyn Dean’s love story.
A premiere date for the second season has yet to be confirmed. However, according to Forbes, production for the love fest has begun.
