Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he is considering a significant change to AT&T Stadium, contemplating the tinting of its west-facing windows.

The potential change follows a directive from FIFA which mandated the closure of curtains for recent World Cup matches held at the venue.

Speaking to Fox 4, Jones said. “Well, do you know something? Thinking about it and doing something about it are two different things. … But I’ll think about it,” he stated, referencing the seasonal variations in sunlight.

“It’s hard to tell that time of the year, because the sun’s not the same. This time of the year that it is, in the fall. And that is, you get on into — sun changes, and the angle of that sun changes from September through year-round. But as we look at it, I like some of the effects of the tinting. And so we’re giving that a thought.”

The stadium’s design, while aesthetically striking, has long presented challenges during late-afternoon games, with sunlight streaming through the end zones and occasionally impairing visibility for players.

A notable instance occurred on November 10, 2024, when Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb dropped a crucial touchdown pass during a 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, directly attributing the mishap to the glare.

“I couldn’t see the ball. Couldn’t see the ball, at all. The sun,” Lamb recounted at the time.
