Jetstar plane halted on runway after medical episode: ‘Is there a doctor on board?’

A Jetstar plane was turned around on the runway at the Whitsundays’ airport after a medical emergency.
Flight 841 bound for Sydney was due to take off from Whitsunday Coast Airport, also known as Proserpine Airport, just after 3pm on Saturday.
While travelling down the runway, the plane was forced to stop due to a medical emergency.
A passenger told the Daily Mail an announcement came through the flight system, asking: ‘Is there a doctor on board? Can you make yourself known?’
The plane returned to the terminal as ambulances were seen arriving on the tarmac.
The passenger said they are now waiting at the terminal while the patient is assessed by emergency services.
The Daily Mail has contacted Jetstar for comment.
More to come.
