MAFS Fans Praise David Momoh For Standing Up To Alissa Fay

Married At First Sight‘s (MAFS) Reunion Dinner Party has finally aired, and while there’s *A LOT* to yap about, fans are extremely happy to see that David Momoh defended his “mic drop” moment at Final Vows.

This article contains Married At First Sight spoilers. You can choose to stay or leave.

Not to sound like a bloody broken record, but earlier in the season, Alissa Fay and David were tipped to be one of the strongest couples of the experiment up until Homestays Week.

Unfortunately, after that rocky stay in Adelaide, the pair’s relationship took a nosedive, with things officially coming to an end at Final Vows, with David brutally walking away from his ex-bride before she could read her vows.

“I realise I can’t be the man who constantly fights to be heard or to constantly fight to prove his worth to someone who’s still deciding if I’ll be enough. Throughout all this, I’ve been patient, and I’ve done a lot of listening. But I’m done listening. So, today I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, Alissa. I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself,” David shared before he sissy’d that walk out of that damn chapel.

Anyway, a month on and we’ve finally got the Reunion Dinner Party, and jeepers, Alissa is FIRED UP.

During multiple confessionals, the Adelaide-based nurse repeated that David’s Final Vow walkout made her feel “disrespected”.

Instead of expressing any remorse, David admitted that the only regret was that he didn’t “sprint” away, or pull a “Usain Bolt“, out of Final Vows.

Alissa was the first to arrive at Cocktail kick-ons, so she had the opportunity to tell her fellow early birds, Bec Zacharia, Rebecca Zukowski, Rachel Gilmroe, Luke Fourniotis and Grayson McIvor about what went down.

During her summary, Alissa admitted that David “started with good things in [their] relationship” before he switched up by pointing out the negatives, including Homestays, the Final Commitment Ceremony, the Final Test and the Final Dinner Party.

“He did the most disrespectful thing. He blindsided me, and he walked away,” Alissa said, before adding that David “abandoned” her.

In the middle of her debrief, David walked in, and everyone gave him a cuddle.

Attempting to be the bigger person, David offered Alissa a hug and said, “You good?”

She refused and just stared daggers at him. So, instead of striking up a conversation, David excused himself from the awkward situation to get a drink.

After a very brief moment of recovery, the bride went and pulled her ex for a chat, where she began to grill him for the “disrespect” he dished out at Final Vows.

“You talk about respect being your number one, and you spat on my face, David, why?” Alissa said.

In response, David explained that his actions were “something [he] needed to do” because he felt like he hadn’t been heard during the entire experiment.

“More than half of the time in the relationship, all I did was try to listen to you,” he said.

Crazy because the last time it was David trying to pull Alissa for a chat, and she shut him down the first time. (Image source: 9Now)

Instead of taking his explanation on board, Alissa called him a “coward” and that he “walked away like a little boy because [he] couldn’t face the music”.

“I think I faced the music the whole relationship, so when it got to Final Vows, I gotta turn the music off, and that’s what I did,” David responded.

David then called out Alissa for trying to “lecture him” and that he felt “justified” in what he did. Unfortunately for him (and for the folks enjoying the grilling), Alissa wasn’t having a bar of it.

After walking away, things seemed OK… for a second.

And then BOOM, the Dinner Party officially kicked off, and rolling in from Chopped city, Tyson Gordon decided to pull a Gia Fleur and start some drama by bringing up Alissa and David’s Final Vows.

For that, David threw some shade at the intruder groom for poking his nose in their business.

Unfortunately, the pair both fell for the ragebait, but hey… we LOVE the drama, right?

Sparking up the second Alissa vs David clash of the night, David explained to his fellow participants that his actions at Final Vows was a symbol of him “choosing himself”.

“But you don’t do that to people you love, babe,” Alissa blurted out.

After some back and forth between the exes, David dropped some major truth bombs, including claims that Alissa “called [him] out on physical features” and “raising doubts”.

The argument then resulted in a massive truth bomb from David, who revealed that Alissa had got someone’s number when she returned her dress to Adelaide.

“Did you or did you not get some ‘friend’s’ number on the flight back?” David said with gasps around the table.

“Yeah, I did,” Alissa replied, with the table reacting like they’re on The Jerry Springer Show.

Alissa attempted to make her case, using her “bubbly personality” as an excuse to get someone’s number — the same excuse she used at the Final Test.

The conversation reached boiling point with David calling Alissa out for her lack of ability to take accountability.

“You do not take accountability,” David said before Alissa brought up his strut again from Final Vows, saying he “spat on [her] face” again.

“You didn’t acknowledge the good times,” Alissa claimed, despite her mentioning that he did earlier in the night.

“Did you listen to my vows, Alissa?” David fired back.

Yep, David found his voice. (Image source: 9Now)

David went on to say that Alissa “deserved” him walking away. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the aftermath of that bold statement as it cut to a confessional with Alissa in tears.

“He obviously has no respect whatsoever,” Alissa cried.

“I spent three months with you, and I know that we didn’t end on the terms we both wanted, and it really hurts because I was falling in love with you. But I don’t know that man. I don’t know who he is.”

Look, at the end of the day, we only get shown a small portion of these relationships, but something tells me there’s a huge chunk missing out of Alissa and David’s storyline if he dropped a massive truth bomb like that…
