Manchester United in final stages of making Ederson their first summer signing as Red Devils look to seal £38m fee with Atalanta for star
Manchester United and Atalanta are in the final stages over a deal for midfielder Ederson.
There is confidence a deal can be agreed by the end of the week for a fee up to £38million including add-ons, with the initial fee around £34m.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue as talks continue.
United have more talks ongoing with other targets too as they look to bolster their midfield this summer.
Ederson’s future at Atalanta appears to be at an end after he was left out of their starting line-up against Fiorentina last Friday as talks continued between his side and Manchester United.
Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino confirmed: ‘Not fielding Ederson was a mutual decision. There are ongoing developments related to the transfer market.

In Ederson’s absence, Atalanta drew the game – their last of the season – 1-1.
The 26-year-old Brazil international is keen to join United, who have had representatives in Italy as they look to conclude a deal.
United want at least two midfielders this summer and a forward as well as competition at full back and goalkeeper.
