Megyn Kelly, who was team Trump for the election, now says the president is ‘not a moral man’

Megyn Kelly, the conservative political commentator, contended on her podcast Wednesday that President Donald Trump is “not a moral man” and acts pettily when he is criticized, in her latest critique of the man she once rallied for.

In her latest negative remarks about the president, Kelly claimed Trump was unable to absorb criticisms from his former allies who have broken with him on the Iran war.

“He’s not a moral man, he’s not the greatest husband in the world and he’s extremely petty and thin-skinned,” Kelly told her guest Russell Brand.

“He’s turning on his most loyal supporters because they don’t support this war and getting in bed with people who f****** hate him and have hated him from the beginning,” Kelly added.

Kelly is among the notable former Trump supporters who have faced the president’s ire in recent weeks for publicly opposing his military strikes on Iran that sparked an ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Last week, the president called Kelly a “Low IQ person” and insisted her platform was “dying fast.” That was after she expressed frustrations over the president’s aggressive rhetoric about bombing Iran and asserted he had been “bamboozled” into going to war by other foreign leaders.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, conservative podcast host Candace Owens and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones are other former Trump supporters, with large online followings, who have also been subjected to Trump’s insults for breaking with him on the war.

While Kelly has a decade-long history of skirmishing with the president, she put aside past grievances to support him in the 2024 presidential election. She’s offered him high praise for his immigration agenda and attempts to upend transgender rights.

Despite her current frustrations with the president, she maintains he was the right choice in the election.

“There’s still, in my view, a lot to like about Trump,” Kelly said.

Kelly noted Trump was an “inspirational” and “admirable” person for rejecting the status quo and continuing to succeed despite indictments, impeachments and assassination attempts.

“Many of us just like Trump, you know, we like his personality. But then, the other truth of it is that there are aspects of his personality which are obviously not good and that we’ve mostly just chosen to overlook,” Kelly admitted.

One of those qualities, Kelly said, was the president’s inability to return loyalty to those he demands it from.

“If you have a principle disagreement with something he does, you’re otherized,” she said.

Last year, Trump rescinded his endorsement of former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of his most well-known allies, after she broke from him to advocate for the Justice Department to release the Epstein files. Ultimately, Greene resigned from Congress and has continued to challenge the president.

Recently, Trump began insulting Carlson, his former longtime media, after the conservative pundit criticized the president’s decision to go to war. Despite heavily supporting Trump during the election, Carlson recently apologized for endorsing the president and “misleading” people.
