Model Molly Sims, 53, slams Hollywood stars who lie about how they achieve their enviable looks

Supermodel Molly Sims, 53, has slammed Hollywood stars for lying about how they achieve their stunning looks, as she insisted she no longer cares about her size.

Sims, who was the face of CoverGirl for many years, spoke about the secrets behind her appearance and the importance of transparency during a recent interview with Us Weekly. 

She explained that during the early years of her career other models ‘helped her’ to look her best by sharing secrets about how they achieved their youthful appearances. 

‘Early on, other models would help you. [They’d say things] like, “I’m getting shots in my a**,” or, “I’m only going to drink grapefruit juice,”‘ Sims told the outlet after she was asked about the fact that there seemed to be less ‘gatekeeping’ in the industry nowadays.

But she then hit out at people in Hollywood who insist hydration and rest are to thank for their enviable physiques.

‘[On the other hand], Hollywood people would say, “I just drink a lot of water, and I slept eight hours.” I’m like, “No, you f**king didn’t,”‘ Sims continued.

However, when the publication noted that there ‘seems to be less gatekeeping about beauty maintenance these days,’ she agreed, explaining: ‘I [recently] went to dinner in the Hamptons, and all we did was talk about everybody’s facelifts. 

‘We’re like, “She looks amazing. She did the upper lip, the lower. She did the CO2.” It’s refreshing for a woman in Kentucky or Ohio to know that it’s not just drinking water and getting a good night’s sleep. You too can be on the peptide.’

During the extensive interview, the model explained that she is embracing aging, which includes no longer ‘wanting to be skinny.’

‘I’m not trying to look like I’m 20, which I think makes a huge difference. I’m just trying to look the best I can at every age,’ Sims explained.

‘I don’t want to be skinny; I want to be healthy. That’s a big mind shift. I don’t want to be skinny-fat,’ she added.

‘I’m the girl who [wouldn’t pick up the] two-pound weight at SoulCycle. Now I do HIIT. I lift weights. I’m back to Pilates and I do Tracy Anderson.’

She also shared her ‘secret weapon’ when it came to embracing her body: having well-tailored clothing. 

‘The difference between me at 20 and me at 53 is that I have an incredible tailor,’ Sims explained. ‘So if I’m a size 12 or I’m size four, it doesn’t matter. That’s my secret weapon.’

Even so, the star admitted that she still gets self-conscious sometimes.

‘Do I still have my hang-ups? Of course. That doesn’t just go away,’ she noted. ‘I’m super broad, and I hate my shoulders and my arms because I was told my entire life, “You’re too muscular.”‘ 

The interview comes months after the actress showed off her svelte figure in a one-piece gingham bathing suit as she walked the runway in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show during Miami Swim Week in May. 

She also flaunted her physique in the May 2026 SI Swimsuit issue.

She was photographed in multiple bikinis on the beach in Baja California Sur, Mexico.

In one striking photo, she showed off her abs in a tiny yellow bikini as she lay in the sand.

Another picture featured the former actress wearing a red bikini, posing from the side, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders.
