Mystery as five people are found dead in suburban Chicago home

Questions are swirling in a Chicago community after police announced five people were found dead from gunshot wounds in a home on a quiet residential street.
The bodies were located around 11.45pm on Sunday after police conducted a welfare check at a house in Mundelein, a suburb northwest of Chicago.
When Mundelein Police officers entered the home, they found three men and two women dead inside. Officers also located two handguns at the scene.
All of the victims had suffered fatal gunshot wounds and appeared to be members of the same family, or in a domestic relationship, police said. Three bodies on stretchers were removed from the home at around 7am Monday, CBS News reported.
Authorities said the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public, but did not share any additional information.
Police did not disclose any suspected motive or say who may have pulled the trigger. The ages and names of the deceased were also not released.
Investigators could be seen parked in front of the house on Monday as they collected evidence from inside the home and cars in the driveway, as well as the driveway of a funeral home next door.
Neighbors told FOX 32 that they recognized a red car in the home’s driveway, as they would frequently see it in the area, but they did not recognize the other two, darker cars parked in the driveway, or the one that police were investigating outside the funeral home next door.

No official information has been released about the cars, their owners or how they might be related to the tragic five-person shooting.
The news of the shooting came as a shock to neighbors in the typically tranquil neighborhood.
They told CBS News that the home was owned by a retired couple who used to run a veterinary clinic. They also said that the family was quiet.
One neighbor, who wished not to be named, told the outlet that the wife in the retired couple was friendly and would always say hello to people.
‘I have a cat who comes out and runs around as I’m gardening, and she’d always talk to me about my cat. She knew cats. She loved cats,’ the neighbor said.
Two women who appeared to be friends of the family were seen on Monday approaching the home with flowers and placing them behind police tape.
Agencies including the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force and the Lake County Coroner’s Office were at the scene on Monday to assist the Mundelein Police Department.
The major crimes task force is called in to ‘respond to homicides, suspicious deaths, in-custody deaths, officer-involved shootings, and heinous crimes,’ according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
