A woman’s body was found covered in stab wounds in a gazebo in Central Park during a powerful nor’easter storm.
Officials said the victim was in her 60s and was found near East Drive and East 74th Street at about 9.43am on Sunday.
Officers responded to the scene after a report of an unconscious person and discovered she had suffered multiple stab wounds to the body and trauma to the head, according to amNY.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A source told the outlet that the woman was believed to be homeless and was living in the park.

The crime scene was discovered off the beaten path, with a large tent and scattered articles of clothing.
Police officers were seen closing off the area amid the pouring rain and investigating with flashlights, according to the outlet.
The discovery comes as a nor’easter batters parts of the East Coast after arriving Friday, with the Tri-State area among the hardest hit by flooding and power outages.
The storm has already claimed the life of one man who was killed by a falling tree, while another person remains missing.
