OnlyFans star, who made $5.4M, jailed in Florida over false tax return
An OnlyFans star who made millions from her content has been sentenced to a year in prison for filing a false tax return and non-payment of taxes.
Natalie Monroe, real name Kylie Leia Perez, earned more than $5.4 million from her social media presence, primarily from OnlyFans subscribers paying to view her livestreams and exclusive content. She had more than 2.8 million followers across various platforms, including Instagram.
Between 2019 and 2023, the model and adult content creator, 31, from Tampa, Florida, failed to pay back at least $1.5 million in income taxes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
Following a criminal investigation, carried out by the Internal Revenue Service, Perez was indicted on one count of filing a fake tax return in 2019 and four counts of failing to pay income tax, one count for each of the subsequent four years. She pleaded guilty on May 20.
Perez was sentenced August 20 to a year in federal prison. She must then undergo a year of supervised release, U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber ruled. She faced up to seven years in jail.
“Evading the payment of owed income tax is a violation of our federal tax laws,” U.S. Attorney Gregory W Kehoe said. “We will continue to prosecute those who purposely commit these crimes.”
Ron Loecker, the special agent in charge of the IRS investigation, said: “When someone chooses personal luxury over meeting their tax obligations, the consequences are inevitable.”
The U.S. Department of Justice announced the creation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division in April this year, which is tasked with cracking down on the theft or misuse of taxpayer dollars.
President Donald Trump has also set up a Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which is chaired by Vice President JD Vance, and seeks to eradicate fraud, waste and abuse from federal benefit programs.
The issue has become a key concern among conservatives, with YouTuber and conservative influencer Nick Shirley’s documentary films attempting to expose fraud in Democrat-run states like Minnesota and California going viral online.
