Paramedics go viral for treatment of baseball star after brutal head injury… as it emerges he will miss the rest of the season

A New York Mets star has been declared out for the rest of the season as fans were left stunned by the manner in which the player was transported.

Jared Young had his season end on Thursday night after suffering a major concussion after his head collided with the knee of teammate Nolan McLean.

Young lost consciousness after the hit and lay unmoving, with the player reportedly suffering from short term memory issues according to interim manager Andy Green.

After spending most of Thursday night in the hospital, Young is now out and going to doctor’s appointments.

While the situation is not ideal, Green told reporters on Friday that it is ‘as good as could be expected or hoped for given what we saw last night.’

Green added that Young has full motion of his limbs and is walking, also saying that the CT scan and non-neurological results ‘were what we wanted.’

‘There is some short-term memory loss from how hard he got hit [Thursday], kind of remembering what happened on the field,’ Green said before the Mets hosted the rival Phillies.

‘And he’s got a pretty bad headache, which would be anticipated as well. More tests over the next few days to really understand all that he is dealing with.

‘But everything we have heard has been really optimistic from a recovery standpoint and getting-back-on-the-field-eventually standpoint. Relieved, I think everyone is.’

But fans were stunned by the way that Young was loaded onto a stretcher by the medical crew at Citi Field after a clip went viral.

Video showing his movement showed paramedics struggling to load him onto the medical cart as Young’s head was seen violently jerking multiple times.

‘As a paramedic, this is tough to watch,’ one user commented. ‘You’d think the Mets could spring the bill for an electric Stryker cot, but still no excuse for the sloppiness from that crew.’

Another said: ‘Where are all the competent people in this world?’

A different paramedic called the transportation ‘the most painful part of this entire accident’ and said the medical staff were ‘like the three stooges out there.’
