Parent cited by police for ‘cowardly act’ on helpless nine-year-old football player during game
Shocking footage has emerged of the moment an angry parent trips a nine-year-old child as he tries to score a touchdown in a youth football game.
The unsavory scene unfolded in Racine, Wisconsin last week when a father supporting the Milwaukee Colts intervened in their game against the Case Eagles.
The Eagles player, wearing No. 88, ran to his left and looked set to cross into the end zone until the father strolled onto the field and wiped him out.
Both the parent and child fell to the floor due to the force of their collision, with the child seemingly landing on his head.
Mount Pleasant Police said the man, 41, had become ‘upset over a play’.
He quickly fled the field but officers later stopped him not far from Case High School. They said he was ‘cooperative, admitted to the act and acknowledged he was wrong.’

The incident took place during a youth football game and police issued the man a citation
Officers issued him a citation for disorderly conduct and released him from custody.
Channing Schultz, the head coach of the Eagles who was on vacation when the incident took place, later described the incident as the ‘most cowardly act I’ve ever seen.’
‘I was filled with anger, it was disgusting,’ he told CBS. ‘It was the most cowardly act I’ve ever seen.
‘For him to just do it with so much intent and he was committed. No words can fix that at all.’
Schultz continued: ‘The way he kicked my little guy. His leg could’ve broke. His shin could’ve broke.’
The man has been banned from attending games for the ‘rest of the season’ but Schultz thinks they haven’t gone far enough and he should be banned for life.
The two teams are due to meet again in two weeks and Schultz wants to ensure his players will be safe or he will consider forfeiting.
