Plaion Takes Italian Rights For Dutch Romantic Drama ‘Red Flags’ – Cannes Market

EXCLUSIVE: Germany-based international entertainment group Plaion has acquired Italian rights for romantic drama Red Flagsin a deal sealed by sales agent Incredible Film.

The Dutch-language film topped the box office in the Netherlands on its release in April, drawing in young adult audiences with its breakout talents Kes van den Broek (The Voice of Holland), Denny Dorland (After Hours, unsolved) and Sophie Bouquet (First Kiss, swapID).

Van den Broek stars as a free-spirited traveller on her gap year, who finds herself swept off her feet by the enigmatic Fender. What begins as a whirlwind romance soon turns complicated as Tess starts to uncover troubling red flags that force her to question their relationship.

The feature is produced by Amsterdam and Antwerp-based millennial and Gen-Z focused Film and TV production company NewBe.

Red Flags Is Directed by Lodewijk from Lelyveld Whose Credits Include The Fault in Our Stars. The film will screen in Cannes Marché du Film.

Further titles on Netherlands-based Incredible Film’s Cannes slate romcom Out of Luck which ispartly set at Cannes Film Festival family drama Running for Love.
