Spring racing continues at Flemington; Aeliana, Cosmic Crusader and Birdman favourites in 5.10pm main race

Flemington track manager Liam O’Keeffe says the track is holding up well despite a busy run of races and a mix of weather conditions during the Melbourne Cup carnival.
O’Keeffe spoke to Nine’s coverage a short time ago and said the track was rated well despite rain overnight and further showers today.
The wind and rain is pelting down as they count down to the first race at 12.40pm (AEDT).
“I think we will stay a good 4 [track rating] early and maybe a good 3 later on as we have a good wind going across the track which could help dry the surface,” O’Keeffe told Nine.
He added that punters would be allowed on the track to head over to watch DJ Fisher perform tonight, but they would need to wait until around 25 minutes after the last race, which is scheduled for 5.50pm.
