Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce under fire for basic wedding error that left some guests in tuxedos and others in ‘Anthropologie dresses’

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are now officially married – but the dress code for their Friday night wedding left fans completely bewildered.

At exactly 7.30pm on Friday evening, Madison Square Garden lit up with pink neon signs that read ‘JUST&T MARRIED!’ as Swift’s publicist sent an email blast confirming the pop star exchanged vows with the NFL star.

Earlier in the day, A-listers like Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid arrived in droves at the venue in New York City for the couple’s 1,000-person wedding, donning glamorous gowns and over-the-top outfits.

While stars like Karlie Kloss and Rachel Antonoff showed up in metallic gowns, others wore brightly colored suits, like Ed Sheeran.

Singer Camila Cabello arrived in a bright red lace dress, while Swift’s best friend, Abigail Anderson, looked ethereal in a $795 Sau Lee silky brown dress complete with a floral-detailed corset.

However, there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the guests’ outfits, leaving fans perplexed by the dress code – or lack thereof.

‘Okay but what is the dress code for Taylor Swift’s wedding? Why are some people wearing tails and some people are wearing dresses you can buy at Anthropologie,’ one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), sharing pictures of both Glennon Doyle’s bedazzled blue dress and Anderson’s number.

In response, one person wrote, ‘YES! What is happening?’

‘Because anything goes these days,’ another remarked.

Another user claimed, ‘There was reportedly no dress code shared with the invitees. I knew it would be a mess.’

‘Just because all these people have money, doesn’t mean any of them have ever opened a book on etiquette. They have no idea there’s a difference between white tie and formal,’ another seconded.

An X user commented, ‘Probably whatever the eff they wanted.’

It’s unclear exactly whether or not there was a formal dress code set for Friday’s celebrations.

According to a press release, the bride had her brother Austin Swift by her side as her ‘Man of Honor,’ while the groom chose his brother Jason Kelce as his ‘Best Man.’

The couple themselves both wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture on their big day, designer Jonathan Anderson’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned megastar.

The bride complimented her look with Cartier jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.

Hollywood actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony in front of 1,000 celebrity guests.

Mega-watt celebrities Jay Z and Steven Spielberg jetted into the city on helicopters from the Hamptons ahead of the big bash.

Swift and Kelce reportedly confiscated their guests’ phones to avoid leaks, with NYPD officers working inside the event all weekend.

Guests started to arrive at the venue at 3.30pm ET, with city permits suggesting the extravaganza could run on until 4am.
