A key mediator in Iran’s nuclear talks with the US says Israel’s attack “threatens to eliminate diplomatic solutions and undermine security and stability of the region”.
Oman was due to host Steve Witkoff, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, and other key officials for the sixth round of nuclear deal talks with Iran on Sunday.
But in a statement to Oman’s state news agency, seen by Reuters, the nation’s government says Israel is responsible for “this escalation and its consequences”.

“Oman considers this act a dangerous, reckless escalation, representing a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, the principles of international law. Such aggressive, persistent behaviour is unacceptable and further destabilises the regional peace and security,” the statement read.
“The Sultanate of Oman holds Israel responsible for this escalation and its consequences, and calls upon the international community to adopt a firm and unequivocal stance to halt this dangerous course of action.”
