Terry Bailey: See the moment top Aussie sport commentator wins fans for his hilarious and VERY rude reaction to an emergency in the middle of an event

Veteran Australian horse racing commentator Terry Bailey has won a host of fans with a moment of comedic gold on Monday after an alarm went off while he was midway through calling a race.

It was business as usual for Race 6 at Mornington Racecourse, with the field thundering for home and Bailey focusing on calling the action – when suddenly an alarm sounded in the booth.

Bailey hardly paused at the unexpected interruption and kept doing his job with both wit and professionalism.

‘An alarm goes off to scare the s**t out of the race caller’, Bailey exclaimed as he continued describing the action.

The alarm continued to sound for the rest of the race, with Williamstown storming home to win.

Bailey got through the race without missing a beat, before mentioning the alarm again.

‘That alarm is right over my head, it scared the living bejesus out of me,’ he explained.

‘We need to evacuate… I think I’ll stay here, I’ve got a feeling it’s a false alarm.’

He then started talking to Racing.com host Edward Sadler.

‘Edward, if you’ve got anything Nurofen or Panadol in the studio, can you send it out to me? This is going to send me bonkers,’

The clip has since done the rounds on social media, with fans loving Bailey’s reaction.

‘Called that race like a champion and didn’t break stride once,’ posted one X user.

‘Terry Bailey with another classic call,’ replied another.

‘First class from Terry,’ posted a third.

Fortunately for those in the booth, the alarm turned out to be false and the next race was called without a hitch.
