The Block’s Chantel & Wyatt Speak Out Amid Split Rumours Before Filming

The Block 2026 is tipped to be the show’s most entertaining season yet, with five fresh-faced teams building brand new properties in Mount Eliza while also living in the same house for the very first time. However, while the on-screen drama is still a couple of weeks away from hitting our screens, a major rumour about two of this year’s contestants has already begun swirling.

It’s been reported that blue team Chantel Green and Wyatt Randall — touted as this season’s hottest couple — had broken up before filming even kicked off.

Multiple sources told Daily Mail this week that the pair proceeded with the show following their split to gain exposure for their businesses, and Wyatt has even moved on with a new girlfriend since production wrapped.

“Their break-up was one of the worst-kept secrets on the Gold Coast,” one source told the publication. “People were talking about it well before filming started.”

PEDESTRIAN.TV can confirm that, despite the rumours flying around this week, Chantel and Wyatt appeared as a loved-up couple with plenty of PDA at the show’s media launch event on Thursday.

The duo also told P.TV that the long-running series had a positive impact on their relationship and made them “stronger”.

“Honestly, it brought us together,” Chantel said — which could be interpreted in many different ways, considering the reports.

“Chantel’s got a lot of patience,” Wyatt joked. “We have the opposite effect, so she counters me, I can counter her, and we sort of work good. So we actually were great through the show, I think.”

Chantel added that they were a “great team” during filming, and her two biggest takeaways from the experience were that she has “a lot of patience” and she’s “really good” for Wyatt. Interesting…

Who are The Block 2026 contestants Chantel and Wyatt?

According to Channel 9’s media release, Chantel and Wyatt met almost two years ago in the gym and live together on the Gold Coast with her three young children, aged two and a half, six and seven.

Sources have told P.TV that the couple first applied for The Block in 2024 not long after they met, but were rejected by producers because of how fresh their relationship was.

Outside of the show, the pair are co-founders of an online fitness coaching business. Chantel also owns an online activewear business, and Wyatt is an inspiring actor, having recently appeared as an extra in Russell Crowe’s recent film The Get Out.

While the couple have yet to confirm or deny reports of their current relationship status, viewers will simply have to tune into the new season and decide for themselves whether they were genuinely in love or putting on the ultimate facade. TBH, it sounds like an excellent rom-com to me.
