The body part that secretly reveals your age… no matter how much work you get done

Many women spend thousands of dollars a year in an effort to keep their faces looking younger than ever… but this one body part could be giving their true age away.
From retinol and vitamin C serums to Botox and laser treatments, Americans are investing more than ever in anti-aging routines.
However, according to one New York City-based plastic surgeon, many are overlooking the body part that often reveals their age first: their wrinkly necks.
While people tend to focus on crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles and sagging cheeks, changes below the jawline can create a striking mismatch, even after the face has been refreshed with injectables or surgery.
Because neck skin is thinner, it is easier to tell when it is dehydrated. Plus, tech neck is a major issue, as well as not protecting it with sunscreen. Giveaways include wrinkled, crepey skin from sun damage, fine lines, the loss of the jawline definition, muscle banding, skin laxity and vertical neck cords.
Weight loss from GLP-1s has led to jowls and turkey necks, along with simply naturally aging.
Dr Michael Stein told the Daily Mail that ‘neck contouring cases have skyrocketed’ in his New York City practice over the last three years.
The double-board certified plastic surgeon believes one massive reason for the change is that patients were previously ‘overpromised dramatic results.’

Dr Stein explained that neck liposuction was historically done under general anesthesia, with three incisions, and typically used in conjunction with skin tightening devices and has since become a 30-minute procedure, done wide-awake without sedation. He sends his patients back to work the next day and they can even go back to the gym after the surgery.
Many of his patients end up telling him they regret spending their time and hard-earned money on ‘minimally invasive temporary neck contouring techniques, when a 30-minute neck liposuction procedure could have solved their concerns permanently.’
Dr Stein estimated that more than 50 percent of patients come to him only after trying different techniques, including jawline filler and radiofrequency devices.
His high-end boutique practice charges around $10,000 for the procedure, which removes excess fat under the chin to improve shadows around the jawline.
Dr Stein has seen ‘more and more men and women between 20 and 40’ come in for the procedure, as well as people who have lost large amounts of weight from GLP1 medications, leading to ‘excess droopiness.’
Dr. Robert Schwarcz, a double board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon also based in New York City, told the Daily Mail that he, too, has seen the age range of patients treating their neck rapidly decrease, going from 55 more than a decade ago to about 45 today.
Many of these patients end up getting procedures like a neck lift between their 40s and 60s, which is when collagen starts depleting rapidly.
While it might seem strange to get such intensive anti-aging work done at a younger age, Dr. Schwarcz explained that it’s ‘often considered a perfect time because the skin still retains enough elasticity to recover better and faster for long-lasting results.’

‘The neck often shows age faster than the face due to the thinner skin in that area, fewer oil glands, and less collagen,’ Dr. Schwarcz warned

It can create a ‘disconnect between a refreshed face and a neck that reveals one’s true age.’
Dr Schwarcz divulged that women whose neck and face ages at the same time look more natural, citing Paulina Porizkova and Amanda Peet, who both ‘speak openly about aging gracefully without surgery.’
Alternately, the stars who debut brand new faces but keep their old necks are giving away their true ages without even realizing it.
