The issuance of 10,000 treatment decisions to grow tissues and organs at the expense of the state at 360 million pounds

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the issuance of 10 thousand and 646 treatment decisions for treatment at the expense of the state, for tissue and organ transplantation, which included liver, kidneys, cord transplantation, and cornea, during the years 2023 and 2024, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s keenness to provide integrated health care and achieve social justice in treatment services. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, The decisions of liver transplantation, and the medical procedures that followed, issued during the period referred to, amounted to 1688 treatment decisions at the expense of the state, at a total cost of 88 million, 187 thousand and 637 pounds. The decisions issued for kidney transplant operations and the follow -up procedures during the years 2023 and 2024 amounted to 7002 decisions at a total cost of 183 million and 952 thousand and 68 pounds, adding that 72 decisions were issued to plant the ear cochlea at the expense of the state, at a total cost of 1.5 million pounds, in addition to issuing 1406 decisions at the state’s expense for corneal transplantation, at a total cost It amounted to 63.5 million pounds. That 57 treatment decisions were issued at the expense of the state, for patients of self -cultivation, at a total cost of 5.25 million pounds, in addition to issuing 267 treatment decisions at the expense of the state, for patients with marrow transplantation from a donor, with a total cost of 25 million and 670 thousand pounds.
