Three South Korean soldiers injured in blast at demilitarised zone, military says
Synopsis
Three South Korean military officers were injured in an explosion south of the Demilitarised Zone. Two officers were evacuated by helicopter following the incident which occurred during an operation. The third officer is expected to be transported by road before airlifting. South Korean media reported the unexplained explosion might have been caused by a mine.
IANSThree South Korean military officers were injured in an explosion while conducting an operation south of the Military Demarcation Line in the western sector of the DMZ, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
Two were evacuated by helicopter. The third is expected to be transported by road before being airlifted by helicopter, the JCS said, without providing further details.
South Korean media reported earlier on Monday that the unexplained explosion might have been caused by a mine.
