Travis Kelce arrives at Arrowhead Stadium ahead of Chiefs opener as he prepares for his potential NFL last dance… but will new wife Taylor Swift be watching on?

Travis Kelce cut a sharp figure as he arrived for his first NFL regular season game as a married man on Monday. 

The NFL star, 36, had a life-changing offseason, marrying pop sensation Taylor Swift in a star-studded celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 before enjoying a whirlwind honeymoon.

However, the tight end was back to business on Monday as the Chiefs kickstarted their 2026 season against the Denver Broncos. 

And Kelce looked locked in as he strolled into Arrowhead Stadium for the first game of his 14th – and potentially final – season in the league. 

The football player toned down his usual extravagant fashionable flair in an understated mint green knitted polo top and dark brown pants. He added a touch of style to the look with a pair of sunglasses and a gold watch. 

His glittering gold wedding band glinted as he made his way down the Arrowhead tunnel with many fans wondering if his A-list wife would also be in attendance. 

Swift has been a regular feature at Kelce’s Chiefs games in Kansas City over the past three seasons. 

However, the pop sensation’s attendance at the Chiefs season opener was cast in doubt with the 2026 Emmys also taking place on Monday evening. 

Meanwhile, Kelce enters the season as an elder statesman in the Chiefs locker room. He pushed back retirement yet again this offseason, signing a new deal with Kansas City. However, many fans and analysts have been questioning if this year marks Kelce’s last in the NFL.  

Kelce came under fire ahead of the clash last month when NFL insider Jason La Canfora claimed that scouts in the league have suggested the tight end is finished at the top level. 

‘Kelce is done. That’s over. What you saw last year, that’s what he is,’ Canfora claimed that one NFL scout told him, according to Casino Guru News.

The brutal assessment comes shortly after social media users claimed that Kelce had returned to Chiefs practice with a ‘dad bod’ after his whirlwind summer. 

Kelce endured one of his toughest seasons of his NFL career last year, as the Kansas City Chiefs missed out on the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

During training camp, Kelce openly admitted that he felt partly to blame for the team’s struggles and will look to rectify that during his 14th NFL season.

When asked about what he wants to improve, Kelce said: ‘Just being a better leader.

‘When we get stuck, with adversity hitting, who’s going to want you in that foxhole with you? That’s one of those things, I want to be one of those guys that everybody counts on to be there and get us out of that foxhole.’

Kelce himself has not stated that this will be his last dance. He’s also not said anything to the contrary either.

There have, however, been multiple clues fueling the narrative. The most telling came in the form of a photo shared to Instagram by former NFL star and training associate Cris Carter in July.

The image showed Kelce and his long-time trainers. The caption that accompanied it said that the tight end was preparing for ‘THE LAST DANCE’ alongside ‘Next stop Canton/HOF.’

Then, there was the emergence of the $5million new addition to Kelce and Swift’s property portfolio. It was revealed this month Kelce has purchased a 131-year-old, recently renovated mansion on the Lake Erie shore near Cleveland, Ohio.

The ultra-private, millionaire enclave perhaps provides a forever home for the A-list couple. Another sign that Kelce is preparing to ride off into the sunset with his new bride, bidding farewell to the NFL once and for all.

Kelce opened up on his star-studded wedding earlier this month, sharing behind-the scenes details of the lavish bash. 

‘At this point we are what one month out, it’s been so much fun,’ he told his brother Jason, who served as his best man, on their New Heights podcast.

‘It was insane, it was a night I’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up. From the vows to seeing everyone, and how much fun we had that evening, and hearing that being relieved through everyone’s stories of that night. It was just magical man.

‘I wish it could have lasted longer than that, once the drinks got served everyone started moving out.’

Jason, a Philadelphia Eagles legend and ESPN analyst, joked that the stragglers had to be kicked out of the iconic New York arena when they tried to keep the drinks flowing and the party going.

Despite Jason’s quip, Travis gushed over MSG for providing the newlyweds with a private setting.

The couple invited some of the biggest names in pop culture and sport with the likes of Selena Gomez, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Tom Hanks and a host of Kelce’s teammates making up the star-studded guestlist, while Adam Sandler officiated.

But, despite the scale of the event, Travis insisted that the 20,000-seat arena provided an intimate setting as he thanked the MSG staff for keeping the details of the occasion under wraps.

‘I wanna thank everyone at MSG, we wanted to do it somewhere where we could have an intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,’ he said. ‘We needed to have a private feel, and MSG went above and beyond to give us that.

‘I can’t thank everybody enough, not just who showed up but helped put that show on.

‘[…] It was very cool to see how everyone interacted with no phones, everyone is on guard, it makes everyone be in the moment and present. It was cool to see friends of my childhood and of Taylor’s all the way to people we encountered through our careers and became good friends with. We wanted it to be a beautiful ceremony and made sure everyone left there having some fun.’
