Cookie queen Brooke Bellamy has surprised fans at the opening of her new Brooki Bakehouse in Sydney after the RecipeTin Eats saga.
The popular social media star, whose viral bakery started in Queensland, has opened her 12th store in Australia, right in the heart of the busy Barangaroo precinct.
On Friday, hundreds flocked to the new dessert spot, with a massive queue stretching down Barangaroo Avenue, just metres from Sydney Harbour.
Before the doors opened at 10am, a line started to form outside, with the first 100 customers treated to free cookies.
Pictures show Brooke – who’s currently pregnant with her third child – smiling as she served customers at one of the city’s most anticipated bakery openings of the year, with fans expecting waits of up to two hours.
She was seen wearing her signature pink apron over a top, while her employees wore uniforms emblazoned with the words ‘INTERNET’S FAVOURITE COOKIE’ on the back.
The baker was on her feet, working non-stop to fulfil orders as customers raced to the new store to get their hands on the famous treats.
Many are thrilled the bakehouse is now in Sydney’s CBD, as they can finally taste the famous cookies, cupcakes, brownies and vintage heart-shaped cakes.

‘OMG this is going to be DANGEROUS,’ one customer said, referring to their wallet and waistline.
‘Can’t wait to try them! I’m so happy it’s now in the city,’ another shared.
‘OMG this is the best news ever,’ one added.
The Barangaroo store is Brooki Bakehouse’s second Sydney location, opening nine months after its Sydney Airport T2 Domestic Terminal food court bakery.
On Thursday afternoon, Brooke hosted an exclusive event for content creators, as they were given a first taste of the Barangaroo bakery.
And it seems Brooke isn’t slowing down any time soon, with her 13th store expected to open at Perth Airport as the wildly popular bakehouse continues to expand.
The baking queen became one of the most talked-about influencers in 2025 after her explosive public feud with Nagi Maehashi, the founder of RecipeTin Eats.
At the height of the scandal, Brooke found herself at the centre of allegations from Nagi, who accused her of plagiarising two recipes – caramel slice and baklava – in her cookbook.
In April 2025, the RecipeTin Eats founder publicly claimed Brooke’s recipes bore striking similarities to her own.

Many are thrilled the bakehouse is now in Sydney’s CBD, as they can finally treat themselves to the famous cookies, cupcakes, brownies and vintage heart-shaped cakes
However, Brooke denied all allegations and said her work was the result of ‘countless hours’ of baking experience.
‘I did not plagiarise any recipes in my book which consists of 100 recipes I have created over many years, since falling in love with baking as a child and growing up baking with my mum in our home kitchen,’ she said at the time.
Penguin, the publisher behind Bake With Brooki, also rejected the claims, stating the recipes were her own.
Earlier this year, Brooke addressed the fallout, explaining that she had made a deliberate decision to stay silent instead of retaliating.
‘I think I did in the initial stages, but… I am the sum of my actions, not of my words,’ she told The Balance Theory Podcast.
‘So, in that moment, I chose very deliberately not to react and not to add to this narrative of “she said, she said”… pitting two women against each other.’

Reflecting on the drama, Brooke said the temptation to defend herself publicly came down to one thing: her ego.
‘Your integrity is questioned and also the only thing to gain there out of adding to that noise… is probably protecting your own ego,’ she explained.
‘Everyone around me knows me. Everyone in my community knows me… I’ve worked really hard to be here. So, I think you just have to decide… am I adding any value by adding noise? Or am I just adding noise?’
Behind the scenes, the mum credited her husband for helping her reframe the situation with a more pragmatic lens.
‘He saw it very black and white… for him it’s just like, “this is just business.” Business is business,’ she said.

And, while she admitted she struggled with that perspective initially, it ultimately helped her zoom out from the emotional toll of the backlash.
‘It was really important for me to kind of… take the time and just be like, well, as I keep going down this path, as I keep building this global business, I am going to be open to more scrutiny,’ she said.
At her lowest point, Brooke revealed it was a simple question from her husband that grounded her: how she would want her children to reflect on this later in life.
Her answer was clear: ‘I don’t want to be a part of a narrative that I didn’t invite myself into.’
