Famous tennis fans were out in full force this afternoon – in all their finery – to catch a glimpse of some of the action on Centre Court on the second day of Wimbledon.

The Royal Box, where the biggest names in sport, showbusiness and high society are lucky enough to get the best seats at SW19, welcomed the likes of actress Celia Imrie, BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James and Thursday Murder Club author Richard Osman.

And the action on Wimbledon’s showcourt didn’t disappoint, with defending champion Iga Swiatek feeling the heat from US tennis star Taylor Townsend. The pair took a set apiece before Poland’s Swiatek finally took hold of the match, winning the third set 6-3.

Other figures with the hottest tickets in town included Lady Rose Gilman, the Duke of Gloucester’s daughter; singer Jamie Cullum, and Harry Potter and Killing Eve star Fiona Shaw.

Also in the box were British former tennis player Deborah Jevans CBE, singer Alfie Boe and radio presenter Mollie King with her partner retired professional cricketer Stuart Broad.
