Why Did Alex & Eddy Split?

The Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) Australia 2026 reunion answered a lot of our burning questions. However, if you’re only interested in what happened between Farmer Alex and Eddy Fry, and what caused their breakup, here’s what we found out at the final shebang.

Shortly after Farmer Alex left the show early with Eddy, news of a split between the couple began to surface. While the pair didn’t confirm nor deny the rumours — considering the fact the show was still running — rumours reached fever pitch when paparazzi pics revealed that Eddy had moved on with a new mansies (who’s allegedly NOT a farmer).

Anyways, the pair have remained tight-lipped up until the reunion. Here’s what the duo revealed about their split.

Why did Farmer Alex and Eddy break up?

Recalling their journey, Alex admitted that there was “something special from the beginning” when he first met Eddy.

Then they briefly spoke about their differences in spirituality, which played a massive role in their story, especially with Eddy praying for the food at the first farm farewell.

However, after the “cameras stopped rolling”, Alex claimed Eddy “recoiled” and “pulled back” from their relationship. He then confirmed they were no longer together, with Eddy initiating the split.

“It was a 10-minute video chat when she was down in regional Victoria, and I haven’t really spoken to her since,” Alex revealed before sharing that he wants to know “why she flipped so suddenly”.

Eddy reveals why she broke up with Farmer Alex

After she joined Alex at the reunion, Eddy revealed she felt different about their relationship following a road trip and some time apart, citing they had “different relationship styles”.

She also admitted that their different religious beliefs also played a part in her decision.

Alex went on to confront Eddy about their chat regarding religion, highlighting the fact she said she was flexible at the time. In response, Eddy said she was “caught up in the spark” and looking back it’s something she wouldn’t compromise on.

Alex went on to say that their split “took me by surprise” and that he felt “there’s not much effort there”.

“[I] felt like you didn’t want to give it a go,” he said.

Eddy went on to admit they weren’t compatible and had clashing beliefs on religion and politics, adding that there was a “bit of a shift” the more she got to know him after FWAW.

Despite their rocky ending, both said they were still keen on finding love. However, according to the rumour mill, it looks like Eddy has found her person.

Per New Idea, Eddy has found love with Aussie-based Frenchman Matthis, whom she met through mutual friends.

As for Alex, no tea on his love life has been spilled. But we’ll be here to catch it when it happens…
