Widow of disgraced celebrity dentist Steven Lin finds love in the most unexpected of places weeks after her ex was shot dead by police
The ex-wife of disgraced celebrity dentist Steven Lin has moved on with a new partner just weeks after he was shot dead by police while on a meth-fuelled rampage.
Cassandra Lin, who has previously spoken of the betrayal and abuse she suffered during her marriage, has found love again in the arms of a handsome tattooed police officer named Jay.
Mr Lin, 41, was gunned down during a tense standoff with officers in Sydney’s Potts Point after he attacked two female strangers while armed with a knife.
It was the closing chapter of a life that had fallen from dazzling heights to utter despair.
Ms Lin told Daily Mail she was nervous to date again given her traumatic past but is hopeful she will finally get her happy ending.
‘It’s a nice, loving and serious relationship,’ she said. ‘And we definitely plan to build this little family and maybe one day get married.’
In a video posted to her Instagram page, Ms Lin referred to Jay as a ‘stepdad,’ as she shared a series of heart warming clips of her new partner bonding with her children, including twins, who were just one-year-old when their father began his downward spiral into drug addiction.

‘Reminder, there is someone who will love you and your kid and your whole story. Don’t settle,’ she wrote, then added: ‘He found us.’
Friends told Daily Mail that Cassandra had been hesitant to open up to Jay because of her past, but after their first date she felt there was something different about him.
‘There is potentially a lot of judgment and her story is one that people may not believe so she doesn’t share with new people in her life because of what they may think,’ one friend shared with Daily Mail.
‘Jay asked her on a date and she said he never pushed her for information and just let her explain in her own time and eventually she opened up about everything with Steven.
‘Telling people you have five children is also a hard thing as you never know how they may take it but they are all from the same father and there are twins in the mix too.
‘Jay just sees it as more people to love and its great to see her happy again,’ the friend said.
Jay first appeared on Ms Lin’s social media a week ago when he accompanied her to a friend’s birthday, with the pair all smiles as they shared a series of loved up snaps.
‘In a month that felt unbearably heavy, proof that even in the shadow of loss and grief, love still finds a way to show up,’ she wrote.

By the time he died, Lin had a disturbing history of stalking, assault, choking and repeatedly breaching apprehended violence orders.
Friends claim his drug fuelled behaviour spiralled following the breakdown of his marriage, amid affairs, deception and increasingly erratic conduct.
In an open letter read at his funeral, Ms Lin said: ‘We had it all – our little family felt whole and unbreakable…[then] my world came crashing down.
‘I discovered the life you had been living behind my back. The affairs. The secrets. The abuse. The child you fathered that I knew nothing about.’
In the letter, later posted to Instagram, Cassandra said she has never recovered from uncovering his web of lies.
Dr Lin became a star after authoring his global bestseller The Dental Diet on the importance of dental health and good nutrition for brain function and overall wellness.
He’d given TED Talks, owned two successful practices on the NSW Central Coast, and often flew to the US to appear on TV talk shows about his specialist field.

But then the pressure of his fame caused him to spiral into an ultimately fatal meth habit, which cost him everything.
During his addiction, he threatened to kill his ex-wife and mother of his five children, as well as the woman with whom he had had an affair and fathered a sixth child.
‘I will slit your throat and rip your head off and hang your body in the garage,’ Lin had told Ms Lin in September 2024 during an earlier ice bender.
By then, the Lins had already separated, and she was continuing their practice with a new dentist.
In addition to trying to keep the business running, she was also caring for their young children in the family’s $5million home on the Central Coast.
