China comments on US sanctions

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said China will take “all necessary measures” to protect its enterprises and businesses after the US Senate passed new legislation restricting the import of goods from Xinjiang, where, according to the US, forced labor is used by the small peoples of China. .

Wang said China regrets and firmly rejects the decision, and calls on the United States to immediately correct its mistake. “These measures seriously undermine the principles of market economy and international economic and trade rules, and seriously harm the interests of Chinese enterprises and enterprises,” Wang said.

The United States accuses China of using forced labor in special work centers, which include representatives of the country’s small population who convert to Islam. Among them are Kazakhs and Uyghurs. Among the accusations made by human rights defenders against the Chinese authorities, the work in these centers seven days a week, forced sterilization of workers.

Due to human rights violations, the United States and several other countries boycotted the Beijing Olympics.
