Iran promises to “cut off the hands” of Israeli officials

The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami, said that Iran is conducting a large-scale military exercise called “Bayambar Azam 17” (The Great Prophet), and said that the maneuvers come in response to Israeli threats.

“If the officials of this (Israeli) regime do at least something, we will cut off their hands,” the general said.

At the same time, the Iranian Chief of Staff, Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, indicated that the maneuvers are linked to Israel. In his opinion, the events provoked “empty threats” from the leadership of the Jewish state.

“During these exercises, 16 missiles launched from different platforms accurately hit the target,” Bagheri added, stressing that Iran showed only a small part of its missile capabilities as part of the exercise.

Meanwhile, the press secretary of the exercises, Brigadier General Abbas Nilforshan, indicated that they practiced, as part of the IRGC maneuvers, penetration of the enemy’s air defense shield, including with the help of offensive electronic warfare.

The brigadier general summed up: “The Iranian Revolutionary Guard succeeded in suppressing the enemy’s virtual air defense shield by conducting offensive electronic warfare operations against the enemy’s defense systems in order to provide space for invasion and penetration in the enemy’s sky.”
