Writer Joan Didion dies

American writer and screenwriter Joan Didion has died at the age of 87.

The writer died at her home in Manhattan.

Parkinson’s disease was reportedly the cause of her death.

Didion was born on December 5, 1934 in Sacramento, California. She rose to prominence in the 1960s with articles from Life, The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, and others. One of the most prominent representatives of the “new press” was the woman.

She has written books such as “Play As It Was Written”, “And I Wandered Through Bethlehem”, “The Last Thing He Wanted”, “The White Album”, “Blue Nights” and others. The author has also published several collections of articles. She has also written for Star Is Born, Panic at Needle Park, Secrets of Confession, and Play It Out.

Didion is a recipient of the National Book Award for Non-Fiction Writers, the United States Writers Guild and the National Writers Foundation.
