Britain spends £700,000 to encourage Afghans to stay in the country
The UK government spent more than £700,000 on a media campaign that encouraged the Afghan population to stay in the country.
According to a report published by The Independent, the British Home Office has paid Sevar at least £702,000 since 2016 to “change immigration behaviour” for Afghans.
The British authorities also plan to allocate an additional £500,000 to the embassy for a “new strategy to contain organized migration crime and influence the communication strategy”.
The ministry refused to reveal the details of cooperation with Sefar.
