Amazon releases trailer for ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV series

On You-Tube-channel, Amazon showed a “Lord of the Rings” teaser. The project is called The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and the TV series premiere is scheduled for September 2, 2022.

In the teaser, a female voice tells a story about the origin of the rings of power that were passed down to different peoples of Middle-earth.

It is known that in the series inspired by the “Lord of the Rings” will appear both familiar and new characters. The show will have at least five seasons. Each of them will have eight to ten episodes. The pilot episode was directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.

Earlier, actor Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, responded negatively to the message that a new series based on the plot of John Ronald Tolkien will be filmed in the UK.

Unlike the original trilogy, Amazon Prime’s The Lord of the Rings series will not be filmed in New Zealand.

The first season of the fantasy series will cost Amazon Studios $465 million, making the series the most expensive production ever.
