“Nothing aside”? Details of what his children Lucie and Romain touched

The singer Christophe died 4 years ago. His older brother Gérard spoke in “France Dimanche”. He returned to a controversial issue: the artist’s legacy.

Four years after his sudden death following emphysema aggravated by Covid-19 – he died on April 16, 2020, in Brest, at the age of 74 – the great French singer Christophe is still causing a lot of ink to flow. And for good reason, his older brother, Gérard Bevilacqua, spoke on April 19 in the columns of the magazine France Sunday. And the least we can say is that he made no secret of the financial legacy left by the artist.

“Chris didn’t put anything aside” : Christophe one “spendthrift” ? His brother speaks

Very quickly asked about his brother’s heritage, Gérard responded without tongue in cheek. And he started by talking about the very poor management of money by the singer of cult hits Aline And The blue words. He actually implied that his singer brother was a “a failed basket that had put nothing aside” and who loved gambling and luxury goods. “Chris didn’t save anything. He didn’t own any real estate”he detailed.

Before continuing: “He also liked gambling, poker among other things (…) He was quite extravagant! But despite everything, he owned many valuable things, such as his jukeboxes, his pianos, his guitar collections, his Porsche , his gold records…” Material goods which testified to the artist’s spending side. And this heritage did not end up in boxes, quite the contrary…

What legacy did Christophe leave to his two children? His privileged daughter Lucie

However, Christophe left a nice jackpot to his only heir, Lucie, the daughter he had with his widow, Véronique, in 1971, to whom he was particularly close. Indeed, if Christophe had two children, he had never had any link with his eldest son, Romain, born from a brief affair with the singer Michèle Torr in 1967. A son whom he never recognized and who therefore left nothing!

His only heir thus becoming Lucie, his daughter. “The sale of all these treasures that were offered at auction still brought in 650,000 euros!”then declared the brother of the principal concerned to our colleagues at France Sunday. A nice little jackpot… And it’s up to him to conclude: “Everything went to his daughter Lucie, for whom he had also bought an apartment”. As a reminder, the singer Christophe was buried in the Parisian cemetery of Montparnasse.
