Summer trip prices to Turkey increase by 60%

After the early booking offers expire, travel prices to Turkey will increase by at least 50% compared to 2021, and in some sectors could jump by up to 60%. This was stated by the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).

The tourism sector in the Turkish economy is experiencing a real shock due to the devaluation of the lira and the high costs of fuel and electricity tariffs. Turkish hoteliers note that the increase in the cost of food purchased by hotels in January 2022 was 100% compared to December 2021. All this will lead to the fact that by summer the cost of trips to the country may jump by 50-60%.

According to the Central Bank of Turkey, in January 2022, the average nightly rate in Antalya hotels increased by 78% compared to December 2021 and by 137% year-on-year. For this reason, some hotels have begun to stop receiving guests, as the sharp increase in the cost of living only leads to an outflow of guests, so it is easy to temporarily close.

Tourism industry experts note that a significant jump in tour prices will occur in late March or early April.

In addition to the basic tourist packages, prices for transportation services for tourists (transfers and excursions) will also rise.
