Urgent.. Details of the hour-long phone call between… "Biden" And"Netanyahu"

US President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night, and they discussed the terms of a potential ceasefire agreement that would include the release of prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement issued by the White House.

Biden’s conversation with Netanyahu comes as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken departs on a trip to the Middle East, his seventh travel mission to the region since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza more than six months ago. 

 

Blinken’s public schedule shows that the minister will travel from April 29 to May 1 and visit Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel.

A US official in the Biden administration told the New York Times that the call is between Biden and Netanyahu. It lasted for about an hour and focused mainly on a potential ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

 

In a statement after the call with the Israeli Prime Minister, the White House said that Biden “reiterated Its firm commitment to Israel’s security. 

The statement also highlighted the successful defense against the Iranian missile and drone attack earlier this month. 

 

Biden said earlier that the United States helped Israel eliminate “all” Threats made by Iran.

 

The White House said that Biden and Netanyahu “also reviewed the ongoing talks to ensure the release of prisoners with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.”

 

The White House statement said: “The US President referred to his statement with 17 other world leaders calling on Hamas to release its citizens without delay to ensure a ceasefire and relief for the people of Gaza.” 

The US President and Netanyahu also discussed increases in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including through preparations to open new northern crossings starting this week.

 The US President stressed the need to sustain This progress will be enhanced in full coordination with humanitarian organizations.

 

 The leaders discussed the issue of Rafah, and the president affirmed his clear position of rejecting the aggression against the city.

 

The phone call between Biden and Netanyahu last night comes just days after the US President signed an aid bill allowing $26 billion in military aid to Israel, which includes humanitarian relief for the people in besieged Gaza.

While Biden has remained steadfast in his support for Israel, Biden and other senior US officials have increasingly criticized Israel’s military offensive on the Gaza Strip, as the mounting civilian death toll has sparked protests around the world.

 

Israel immediately declared war when the Palestinian Hamas movement launched an attack on October 7, 2023, killing nearly 1,200 people and holding more than 200 others captive in Gaza. In nearly seven months of bloodshed, the number of Palestinian martyrs exceeded 34,000, and more than 76,000 were wounded in the besieged Gaza Strip, most of them children and women, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
