Princess Charlene returns to Monaco after 10 months of treatment

Princess Charlene of Monaco has returned to her family in Monaco after ten months of treatment for an infection contracted during a trip to South Africa.

It is assumed that the princess has fully recovered from a serious illness and has completed her major rehabilitation period, and therefore will be able to resume her duties in the coming weeks.

The prince’s palace said in a statement that “in accordance with the doctors’ instructions, and while her recovery process is going well, their Highnesses agreed that Princess Charlene can now continue her recovery in the emirate with her husband and their children.”

Princess Charlene of Monaco, a native of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), spent six months in South Africa due to an illness associated with an acute infectious disease of the nasopharynx. She underwent several surgeries in the country – the last one was on October 8.

Because of this long absence of the princess, rumors began to appear in the press about the scandal associated with her husband’s infidelity, but the couple denied this. She managed to return to Monaco only on November 8, but due to the deterioration of her condition, she soon had to leave the principality for treatment.
