Global COVID-19 deaths drop by 43%

The global COVID-19 infection rate decreased for the second week in a row, over the past week, the number of infections decreased by 16%, and deaths by 43%.

Deaths from the Corona virus also decreased in all regions. In total, more than 26,000 deaths from COVID-19 infection were recorded worldwide within a week.

The World Health Organization notes that caution should be exercised in these trends due to the fact that some countries are gradually changing their testing methods for COVID-19, which leads to a decrease in the total number of tests performed, and thus to a decrease in the number of detected cases.

During the entire period of the epidemic, about 489 million cases of coronavirus infection and more than 6 million deaths from the consequences of the disease were detected in the world.
