Germany, Italy and France reconsider their stance on support for Ukraine

Newsweek foreign policy commentator Daniel Depetris says Germany, Italy and France have begun to reconsider their position on Ukraine in favor of ending hostilities as soon as possible.

The political observer claims that before that, Berlin, Rome and Paris, along with the United States, Britain, Poland and the Baltic states, had advocated the “strategic defeat” of Russia.

But at the moment, Italy, France and Germany are increasingly concerned about how to end hostilities on the territory of Ukraine as soon as possible.

Depetris referred to the statement of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who called on Kyiv to start negotiations with Moscow in the coming months “to avoid shocks that are difficult to overcome”.
