Erdogan begins military invasion of Syria….

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the launch of a new military operation to combat terrorism in northern Syria. This was reported by Anadolu Agency.

“We are clearing Tel Rifaat and Manbeesh of terrorists,” the Turkish president said at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party’s parliamentary faction in Ankara.
“A new phase has begun in the formation of a “security zone” (in Syria) 30 kilometers from the Turkish border.”

Erdogan announced that more Turkish troops would be sent to other border areas with Turkey. The official objective of the operation is to fight the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is banned in the republic and recognized as a terrorist.

The President of Turkey asked: Let’s see what will be the reaction to Turkey’s legitimate steps in the field of security. Who will support Ankara?

Turkey has carried out three military operations in northern Syria since 2017 – Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch and Peace Spring.

As a result, a security buffer zone appeared between the cities of Azaz and Jarabulus, north of Aleppo, and the Turkish forces took control of Afrin and the border areas east of the Euphrates River.
