Head of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah: Production of the Maliha dairy farm will start with 75 tons of milk per day
Sharjah, April 29 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, confirmed that the Mleiha Dairy Farm, which was launched today by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the first phase of which is the first of its kind. At the Middle East level, he explained that all its milk production and its derivatives are completely organic.
He pointed out that during this phase, 75 tons of milk will be produced per day, reaching a production capacity of 310 tons of milk per day during the next three years when the project is completed.
His Excellency said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”: “His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah paid great attention to the nucleus of the herd, as a purebred breed “A2A2” was imported, which is the old breed of cows that had not undergone any genetic cross-breeding, and its number at this stage reaches 1,250 heads. Pointing out that His Highness directed that the number of the herd be doubled directly, and not wait to double it through natural births, and accordingly an additional 1,250 heads will be imported by the end of this year, and thus the time period for increasing the herd will be shortened from 5 years to 3 years, with the total number at that time reaching 5,000. Head of cattle.
The milk of Mleiha Dairy Farm is characterized by a rich protein of high quality and a high percentage of fat, compared to other types, as it contains a fat content of approximately more than 4% and a protein content of 3.5%. It is considered one of the finest types of milk that will reach consumers in its natural form without any interference or reduction. Among its components, it is easily digestible and reduces intestinal disorders.
