Spain proposes a plan to export gas to Europe to avoid reducing consumption

Spain will offer to export gas to Europe via two gas pipelines through the Pyrenees and use the logistics capabilities of its gas system in order not to introduce a measure to reduce gas consumption by 15%, which was previously proposed by the European Commission.

Spain plans to present its ideas on July 26 at a meeting of EU energy ministers.

Accordingly, the Kingdom proposes to export 6.7 terawatt-hours of gas per month (69.3 thousand cubic meters), which is three times the average of the past five years, which the European Commission adopts as a basis for reducing gas consumption.
