Shukry: Egyptian diplomacy is on the right track to preserve the capabilities and interests of the nation

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry confirmed that Egyptian diplomacy is on the right track to preserve the country’s capabilities and interests.

This came in the speech delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs during the “Egyptian Diplomacy Day” celebration. Which was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last night.

Shoukry said: “We are meeting together today to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of Egyptian Diplomacy Day, which falls on the 15th of March every year, the date of Egypt’s declaration of independence in 1922, the end of foreign protection, and the reinstatement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” He pointed out that this year’s celebration has a flavor. Special because it coincides with the holy month of Ramadan.

He added: “We meet today to celebrate and express our appreciation and pride in Egypt’s capable and lofty diplomacy throughout the ages, that diplomacy that was able to ably protect Egypt’s supreme interests and national security in times of peace and war, in stages of tension and crises, and periods of stability, construction, and modernization.” ..Sending a greeting of honor and appreciation to all the members of this ancient institution who implemented Egypt’s foreign policy throughout the ages.

Shukri continued, “Our celebration this year comes in light of a very complex regional and international reality, in which we are witnessing a humanitarian tragedy experienced by our brothers in the Gaza Strip, and it is regrettable and even disgraceful that the international community has been unable to put an end to this tragedy for more than five months.” /span>

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said: “There are many and successive crises, which become more severe and dangerous with the passage of time. A Russian-Ukrainian war has left an international reality characterized by polarization, an arms race and tension, civil wars and real dangers that warn of the disintegration of states. In addition to all of this is the spread of Unprecedented cross-border challenges such as the spread of diseases and epidemics, climate change, international terrorism, illegal immigration and others, all of which are challenges that place the responsibility of Egyptian diplomacy to deal with them with extreme vigilance, insightful vision and innovative solutions.

Shoukry added: “Egyptian diplomacy finds itself today at a pivotal moment in which it charts Egypt’s foreign policy in our new republic in light of a difficult regional and international reality and stormy waves in which it sails Egypt to safety, preserving its balance and moderation under wise political leadership, which does not risk the interests of Egypt and the security of its people, and is not affected by the current state of polarization, preserving its established principles that were established and preserved throughout the ages.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that in order for Egyptian diplomacy to continue to defend the interests of the nation as usual, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invested greatly in training members of the diplomatic corps to arm them with the latest tools that enable them to understand and deal with current challenges.< /span>

Shoukry said: The strategy of investing in Egyptian diplomatic cadres who have recently joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has enabled us to intensify cooperation in the field of training with various state institutions, which has provided young diplomats with a deeper understanding of how these institutions work and the nature of the intertwined challenges facing Egyptian national security from various dimensions.

The Foreign Minister added: “My message to you today, while we are inside this building that has witnessed the achievements of Egyptian diplomacy throughout the ages, is to preserve the traditions of that ancient institution to which we have the honor of belonging, and the principles of the profession that we inherited from those who came before us. The future of This country and the defense of its interests are a trust in all of our hands.”

He pointed out that his message to the new generation of diplomats is to keep in mind what they swore to when they joined the diplomatic corps, as this oath is not just words that are recited, but rather a belief and commitment that the future of this country and the defense of its interests are entrusted to you.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs extended his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the successive generations of ambassadors, whose experiences and principles that we adhere to are inspired by us as an example of giving, professionalism, and sacrifice.

Shoukry said: “Despite the complexities of the current regional and international scene, it was important and necessary that this year not pass without celebrating Egyptian Diplomacy Day, to reaffirm that it is on the right track to preserve the capabilities and interests of the nation.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs sent a message of thanks and gratitude to all employees of the Egyptian diplomatic corps for their efforts, sacrifices, and giving in appreciation of their venerable homeland for raising the flag of Egypt high.
